How to Play Sudoku
What is Sudoku?
Sudoku is a logic game with numbers. You don’t need math, just reasoning. The goal is to fill a 9x9 grid with the numbers 1 to 9.

Basic rules
- Each row must contain all numbers from 1 to 9 without repetition.
- Each column must also contain the numbers 1 to 9 without repetition.
- Each 3x3 square must contain the numbers 1 to 9 without repetition.
In the end, the result for the image above would be:

💡 The trick is to use logic to find the correct numbers, not guessing.
Step by step to start
1. Look at the initial grid
Some numbers are already placed. They are the clues. Your job is to complete the empty spaces.
2. Look for easy numbers
Check if rows, columns, or 3x3 blocks already have many numbers. Sometimes only one number is missing: that’s your chance!
3. Use the elimination method
If a number already appears in a row, column, or block, it cannot be repeated. This helps you eliminate options in other cells.
4. Write down possibilities
If you’re not sure, you can write small numbers in a cell as possible options. Then, as you progress, you can erase options until only the correct one remains.
Click the notes button and select the cell where you want to write notes. Instead of adding the solution number, you’ll take notes:

5. Continue with patience
Don’t get frustrated if you don’t find the correct number right away. Sometimes it’s better to move to another part of the board and come back later.
Useful tips
- Start with the (3x3) blocks that are more filled.
- Check rows and columns after each number you add.
- Don’t guess. Sudoku is solved only with logic.
- Turn on the help (button help) so that the related cells are highlighted.
